So Columbus Day weekend we took a little family vacation down South, as south as you can get in the U.S, to Florida. It was our first time there and as much as I would have loved to take the whole Disney experience by storm, we didn't have the time or the money. Plus we're doing Disney Cali in February so we wanted to save it. We even contemplated Universal Studios, but felt like that would be another experience to take as well. So Sea World it is! We were suppose to stay an extra day and also do the beach, but our trip was cut a day short for work. I'll see myself an East Coast beach one day soon... Anyway...
On day one we decided to hit all the shows first, and see anything else we could along the way
Dolphins were first and put on a neat show
Next was feeding the Sea Lions
Then we explored around a little bit and decided to go on a ride, which happened to be a ride and Penguin exhibit all in one. Probably one of my favorite parts... Even though it was a freezing 32 degrees inside
Then later that afternoon we went to the Shamoo show where we decided to sit in the splash zone. The hotel gave us free ponchos so we figured we should make use out of them. Even with the poncho on though Gavin did not like getting splashed. And I was not a fan of the salt water in my hair, but it was still fun and a good way to cool off in the horrible humidity (Georgia ain't got nothing on Florida heat)
That night we ordered dinner pool side at the hotel and swam off all our sweat from the hot day. Our hotel had a really cool pool with penguins and splash areas for the littles.
Our day 2 adventure was more about doing the extra stuff and riding all the rides. Easton wanted to go on the big coaster (shown 3 pictures up) but he was not tall enough. He is my little dare devil with roller coasters! His favorite part was probably Atlantis (kinda like Splash Mountain) and since Gavin wasn't big enough, Jameson and I swapped and he got to ride it twice!
We walked around and saw the turtles, sharks, sting rays, etc
My favorite part of day 2 was getting to pet the dolphins. It was so cool and something I've always wanted to do. When our 2nd day passes ended up being free, we decided to do the dolphins and it was totally worth it! (Best 45 bucks ever spent!)
Also on the 2nd day, we saw the Sea Lion show (which we saw part of the first day, but Easton left mid way through to go pee)
Day 2 was also way busier than the first because Sea World was doing a Halloween Spooktacular. The kids walked around and saw characters and collected candy, but we only stayed for a little bit because it was so busy
