Campin in Sedona

At the beginning of July we had a trip planned with some friends (baby-free) to go camping. I decided to still go even though I was husband-less. I think it was much needed for me just to get my own little break from Easton after being on my own for a few weeks. It was awesome to get away and spend some time with some great friends in one of my favorite places ever! 

We got there late Friday with just enough time to set up before the sunset. Luckily, others arrived before us and were already starting dinner... which I guess didn't matter since it took like 3 hours to cook anyway with our bum of a camping stove and the no fire restrictions. After the delicious dinner (thanks abbs and david), we spent the rest of the night hanging out and playing scum. I slept wonderfully on my air mattress and was super excited for the next days adventure cliff jumping at Grasshopper Point. 

When people go to Sedona they usually think of going to Slide Rock, but I like to go to this place a few miles from there called Grasshopper Point. I've been going to this place since I was a teenager and I think its funner and less crowded than Slide Rock. I was excited to say the least!

Then we came back, had some awesome spiral hot dogs, played more games and had a speed tourny!

It was a great time! Can't wait to go back again and this time have Jameson come with!

4th of July Celebration!

Who doesn't love the 4th of July?!?

Plus who doesn't love a 4th where the weather is nice and rainy?! Seriously, one the best days ever in a long time! Even though this 4th I didn't get to spend it with my love I still had a great time with some with friends.We started out with some amazing shish kabobs courtesy of the Workmans (they really were amazing). Then after the rain stopped I took Easton swimming with floaties for the first time and the kid loved it! He didn't like it at first, but once he warmed up to it he was scooting himself off the side of the pool from a sitting position into the water. He was giggling the whole time and it was really fun for me to see him having so much fun. I love that little boy so much! Then afterwards we showed the kids some Sparklers and little Pop-Its before heading out to the Peoria Sports Complex for the fireworks show. I can't remember what we did for fireworks last fourth or how Easton felt about them, but he for sure liked them this year. I guess there are two things my kids will sit still for... Fireworks and the Circus!

The Greatest Show on Earth!

Because it really is! For anyone who has ever been, the Ringling Brothers Circus really is amazing! So amazing that squirmy little toddlers will sit in your lap for a whole TWO hours in shock and awe! Squirmy little toddlers who will hardly sit still for anything, except for the circus I guess.

When I found out the circus was coming to town I told Jameson that was what I wanted to do for my birthday. When I found out Jameson would not be able to go I was sad. I almost wanted to tell him not to go at all just so he could go to the circus, but I knew I shouldn't. He would have loved it too.

There were horses, tigers, lions, cats & dogs, and elephants, all of which did some pretty cool tricks. There were girls hanging from a glass ball from the ceiling doing acrobatics making me so nervous they would fall. There were motorcycles on tight ropes. There were girls hanging from their hair spinning ridiculously fast. There were samurais and dragons! There were people swinging in the air doing flips and catching each other. There were clowns, of course. There were people flipping in the air landing on top of other people. There were more motorcycles, this time inside a steel ball driving around in circles (8 of them, which is a world record). The circus really was amazing and Easton loved every bit of it!

These were the motorcycle guys. There are 8 of them driving around in there. I saw an act like this on America's Got Talent and thought it was pretty cool, and that was only with 4 motorcycles.

It was amazing and I can't wait til the circus is in town again!
