What we've been up to...

Jameson spends his days at work. He is really loving the cooler weather and hating the mosquitoes. He also started watching a new show, Breaking Bad, which he's already caught up with on the current season. Jameson also got his bigger TV that he's been wanting... just in time for football season. This is how I feel these days...

On the plus side... here is how the conversation went for why he got a bigger tv...

D- "I want to get a bigger bed"

J- "Why do we need a bigger bed? The one we have now works fine."

D- "Oh ok, so you want a bigger TV, even though the one we have now works fine?"

J- paused silence

D- "That's what I thought"

J- "Ok we can get you a bigger bed..."

So what does Desiree do now that football season has started? Desi has been really busy actually, which is a pleasant change. I finally got a new calling as a Beehive adviser (Woohoo forYoung Women's!) and started going back to school. She is doing the churches Pathway program to finish her degree. For the first year I have to establish my "residency" they call it, which requires an online course and an institute class, and so far I'm  loving it! I was really nervous about spending my nights at institute with a bunch of young single adults, but quickly found lots of other moms were at the class in the same boat as me. Yay! Plus, I never really did institute before and I'm excited to learn more about the scriptures (I am not one of those savvy scripture people). 

Jameson and I also just went white water rafting, which was a blast! Yay for Groupon for making it cheap! I was really nervous about falling out, but somehow managed to stay in. Can't wait to go back next summer!

Oh and we did it in the rain! Made me feel even more hardcore ;)

And after...

Easton will be 3 next month, which is crazy! He likes to spend his days watching shows, playing with friends, and going to the store with mommy... only sometimes and only when he thinks he might get a toy. A common misconception since we potty trained him because we were using that bribe in the beginning so now he thinks it should happen all the time. He also likes to be doing stuff right next to Gavin, wherever he is...

Gavin is 6 months old now... even more crazy! He has not been so much of the happy baby that I normally mention, but the fussy teething baby instead. Still waiting on those first teeth to poke through though. Aside from that he loves food, Easton, chewing on the tags of all his toys or blankets, and his bouncer. He is getting really close to sitting up, he can do it just not without help...

And while he does get around by rolling all over the place, he hasn't figured out how to scoot or crawl yet, which is ok by me! Here he his is in all his glory for his six months photos

 And there ya have it! We hopefully will have a lot to blog about soon with October around the corner. I can't wait to experience what real fall is all about. Pumpkin patches, fall festivals, apple picking, traveling petting zoos, and  October also means Easton's birthday and Halloween! So many things to check off my fall bucket list, I can't wait!

There is this really fun play place by the Mall of Georgia that we've been to a few times now. Easton really loves their giants slide and their ball pit. I for one haven't seen a ball put in years and was happy they have one. 

 One day the boys and I took a trip down to the temple (I needed some new garments). Jameson had to work, but Easton and I had fun taking in the beautiful sight and walking around the grounds

Easton has been asking to hold Gavin a lot. He is enjoying Gavin a lot more now that he's getting older and somewhat less fragile

The one time we busted out the air mattress and had a family movie night. 

We watched Brave finally for the first time!

We have a backyard, but no access to it unless you go down to the basement. We also have a creek-ish like thing behind our house and I'm worried about snakes and other things being back there. So most of the time we just hang out on our back patio...

We took another trip to Zoo Atlanta one day with some friends. Easton loves the meerkats and the gorillas. We even got interviewed and were on the news about the new baby pandas and rhino born recently.

Our cute little neighbors. Natalia lives down the street. Her daughter Emma is in the front left of the stroller. Then the other four belong to our next-door neighbors who have a two year old (also named Emma) and 11 month old triplets (Drew, Katelyn, and William)

Black Forest Bear Park

On Labor Day (the day my brother was here and Billy and Crystal were in Savannah) we visited Helen Georgia. Mostly we just walked around downtown to the shops, but before that we did visit a bear park where you get to feed bears. 

Can you tell this guy really wanted some food. Haha

  

Easton was totally in love and has been asking to go back every day since.

A week with the Hunters

The other Hunter's that is. Jameson's brother Billy and his family came down from St Louis to visit us this last week. We got around town for sure and had lots of fun doing it! Jameson said we are never planning anything outdoors again though in the middle of the summer because it was hot! I don't think I'll ever get use to this humidity. Although, I can get use to it cooling down sooner, having actual seasons, all the green and trees, and all the fun things there are to do in the South! 

Thursday we played it smart and did stuff in downtown Atlanta that was indoors. Mostly. We did check out Centennial Olympic Park before spending the rest of the afternoon inside :)

 Easton started getting sick of me telling him to say cheese, so I got this over dramatic cheese face

Coca-Cola factory was next

Easton wouldn't take a picture with the polar bear so Gavin and I did

Best part of the Coke factory was the tasting. The top one was my favorite soda (It's Brazil Katie!) 

and the bottom one was disgusting (tasted like house cleaner! Bleh!) 

Then we headed over to the Children's museum to finish wearing the kids out. Easton loved the train again. I think we need to get somebody a train table.

The next day Jameson worked a half day, so we stayed on this side of town and did small stuff til he got off. We took the kids to an indoor play place and then had lunch by the lake.

And Elmo showed up (totally unexpected) but Easton actually wasn't scared and decided to take a picture with him (with me holding him of course). 

 Then that night we got a babysitter and went out to the dine-in movies for a date night. We had a groupon and it included a large popcorn... and boy they weren't kidding about it being large! Being the popcorn enthusiast that I am though, I loved it! Haha

Then their last day here we went to Stone Mountain. It was hot! We had fun though riding the train, walking around the park, and playing with giant bubbles.

Billy and his family drove to Savannah for the next few days and came back the day before their flight to hang out for one more night. It was a good week!
