A CAR themed birthday party for a car loving little boy!

We knew this year the theme of Easton's birthday party had to be Cars! He is absolutely obsessed with them so we couldn't have it any other way. For the decorations I wanted it to have a "race car" feel, but most of the stuff I found at the store was Disney Cars themed. I did add a few touches myself to make it more "race car" though. Starting with the checkered flags at the door...

Cars goody bags for the kids filled with Cars stickers, Cars bubbles, and candy. 

Not pictured are the matchbox cars. Every kid got to pick one out when they arrived for the race track :)

I put away all of Easton's toys except for his cars of course. One of his birthday presents was this rug and we left that out for the kids as well. 

Next was the make-shift race track ramp 

(Taped together two science presentation boards, put yellow tape down the middle, and checkered flags on the side). I wasn't sure if this would be a big hit or not, but once the kids figured out what it was exactly it was enjoyed by all the little ones! 

 They all had fun letting their matchbox car go at the top and seeing it fly down to the bottom. Carter who is a little bit smaller than the other kiddos happily snatched them at the bottom for a fun little slobber toy :)

 Easton actually knew what to do this year and enjoyed opening each present slowly one by one.

And we ended the night with cake and ice cream! 

The store bought cake was yummy , but would have been better if my go-to cake people didn't move out of state!! :) Especially since the black icing from the road was dying peoples teeth and lips. Oops! Should have gotten a picture of that!

And of course blowing out the candles. 

I'm sure some of you had a piece of cake with some spit on it from Easton ;)

2 Years Old!

Happy 2nd Birthday little Easton bug! We can't believe its been two years already! We couldn't love you more!! You've grown so much and you still surprise us almost everyday with your silly personality. You are full of energy (as most two year olds), but have become quite the snuggler at bed time, especially if we read you books. You like to ask for more ("Nor") over and over again and when we finally tell you one more  book you'll always come back with two trying to sneak it in. You give kisses on demand and have often started giving the baby in my belly kisses all on your own. You are so sweet and so fun. We love you so much! Happy Birthday buddy!

Here are your two year old stats:

-You love any mode of transportation, such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, planes, and trains! You point them out wherever we go! Your cars and trucks are your first choice of toy and love to ride them on the couch or on mommy while I'm sitting on the couch (You get upset if I readjust my legs while your driving them on me and will move my leg back yourself). 

-You talk so much more than you did a few months ago and are starting to put multiple words together when talking. 

-You love animals and make the noise every time you see something you recognize. Any animal noise you learned before the name you say the sound, but any name you learned before the sound (or ones that don't really make sounds) you will say like Giraffe ("Ir-Raffe"), Fish ("Ish"), Gorilla ("Orilla"), Zebra ("Eeebra").

-You love the show Little Einsteins ("I-stInes")! Love it!! Sometimes I'll play Sesame Street in the morning when we wake up and you insist I change it to Einsteins. Your other favorite shows are "Abby" (Abby's flying fairy school that plays on Sesame Street), Elmo's World, and "Icky" ( Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). 

-You can say most of your colors (Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, Pink, Purple, Black, and White) but still have a hard time distinguishing which is which. 

-Your favorite foods are Pizza ("eeya"), Mac N Cheese ("eeze"), Strawberries, Juice ("Joosh"), French Fries ("Ench Eyes"), and Fruit Snacks ("Nack"). 

-You are still super attached to your binky ("de-de") and blankies. We've been only letting you have your binky at nap time and at night, but you will still ask for it throughout the day. Especially if you hurt yourself or get upset, your de-de is the first thing you ask for. 

- You love to go outside ("Side") and run and play in the dirt. Such a boy!! You love playing with friends. You love nursery. You still love baseball. You are good at giving hugs and kisses. You are so sweet and we love you!!

The Utah trip that turned into Disneyland awesomeness!

So once upon a time we had a trip planned to Utah. Then somehow that trip turned into something magical!(as Katie would say) We just spontaneously decided to go a whole different direction and go to Disneyland! I don't know if Easton will ever remember this trip to Disneyland, but at least when he's older he can't say "my parents never took me to Disneyland" which is something Jameson and I both could say. 

The first day was spent at Disneyland. We started off with some of the small Storybook rides and eased Easton into the whole experience. I think he did really well  considering he only got 5 hours of sleep the night before! Jameson may not agree with me that he did well, but he could have been so much worse.

Some of Easton's favorite parts of Disneyland were the train, the fake cars in ToonTown, It's a Small World ride, the merry-go-round, and the Jungle Cruise ride.
My favorite part was seeing him get all happy and clap his hands and get excited! I loved that!

Easton's least favorite part were the characters. He liked them at first from a distance, but then not so much when we got close to take pictures. This picture cracks me up because he is giving Goofy the stare down.

The second day was spent at Disney's California Adventures. Of course we headed straight to Cars Land when we got there. Easton rode the new Tow Mater ride and loved it! The other kid friendly cars land ride looked dumb, and the other non kid friendly one had a two hour wait... Yeah right. His other favorite rides at California Adventures was Toy Story and the Zephyr (which is the rocket that goes in circles). 

I was surprised though when Easton did not like the character Mater. He loves real life trucks and cars, but I guess he wasn't so fond of Mater. I think it was because he talked and has a face. I don't get it?!

Anyway, thank you Workman's for the spontaneous trip to Disneyland. I don't know how we convinced Jameson to be spontaneous ;) We had so much fun and I wish we could have seen you longer.  We miss you guys already!!

Its a...

BOY! 

We've got another little boy coming our way! We are super excited to see what he looks like and what similarities he will have to Easton. Having another boy also makes things easy with already having everything we need. Granted, we thought a girl would be nice, but I think Heavenly Father knows best and knows this will relieve a lot of stress from me since I am going to be super busy in the next few months I felt like I wasn't even going to have time to get ready for another baby. We have Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easton's birthday, Halloween, the Holiday House, LOTS of sessions ( I think I might be crazy), weddings, baby showers, etc. I don't have an open Saturday with nothing going on until December which is nuts! So thank goodness because this baby being a boy does take away some of my worries. We are having a hard time coming up with any names though that we both like for boys. We will just call him little brother for now :)
