Our trek to Atlanta was actually better than we expected as far as the kid situation goes. We did have some major delays thanks to Chase bank, which we could have done without. We had to contact Chase like 6 or 7 times to tell them we were moving and to approve all charges in the Southern states. Finally the last person we talked to must have flipped a magic switch or something because everyone else we talked to couldn't get the job done. Aside from that I say our trip went pretty well.
Day 1 consisted of a two year old who didn't feel so good. I think it was a combination of not getting enough sleep the night before and a lot of big changes all at once. Although we felt bad that he wasn't feeling good, as long as we had a show on the DVD player for him he was super easy going. And of course baby was tired and slept most of the time.

The road trippers on the start of day 1...
This day was the longest hours wise, plus we lost two hours from the time change. We drove through New Mexico and Texas and stopped in Pecos, TX for the night. That was when all the drama with Chase began. The internet also wasn't working at the hotel, which made for a very stressed out Jameson. We eventually made it to bed and decided to try and figure everything out once we got access to the internet.
Day 2 started out slowly since we went to bed later than expected trying to figure everything out. We stopped at a Walmart on our way out of town to get Easton some IB Profen and then we were on our way. One of our first stops was meeting up with my brother TJ who stayed with a friend in Midland that night, an hour past Pecos. Later we stopped in Abilene, TX for some lunch, which consisted of a huge diaper blow out, a still semi-sick two year old, and another stop at Walmart for some Febreeze and more medicine. This, however, was probably the turning point for Easton. He felt much better after his blow out and started acting like himself again. Unfortunately, we were delayed once we hit Fort Worth and again in Louisiana. You can't really go anywhere when you don't have money to buy gas... Super annoying. Anyway, we stopped in Shreveport, LA for the night and thought that all our card problems were finally solved. We were worried about this night in the hotel for Easton, but he happily slept on the floor with daddy while mommy took one bed and Uncle TJ took the other. And baby Gavin probably slept the best this night too so everyone was able to get some good sleep.
Day 3 was our last big day of driving. Easton was not enthused about being in the car a 3rd day by now. He would have much rather stayed at the hotel all day riding around on the luggage cart...
We were suppose to only drive 6 hours to Birmingham, AL, but it ended up taking longer again due to card issues. I guess by this time it was more comical than anything. And oddly enough it kinda helped to be delayed to give Easton more time out of the car, but we were just so annoyed with Chase at that point. At least the drive was beautiful...
On day 3 we also started to really see more and more green and crossed the Mississippi river.
Easton insisted on holding Gavin's hand at one point. It was very sweet!
Waiting at a rest stop while daddy talks to Chase on the phone...
This was the end of Day 3... when we stopped to get dinner we had a very crazy 2 year old. Despite having a "fun box" with new toys and snacks that we resorted to whenever he would start to get restless (thank you Grandma!!), we still ended up buying him a new toy just to keep him entertained on the last couple hours this night. Best 10 dollars spent the whole trip!!
Day 4 we could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! By this day we can finally say Chase got the point and we didn't have any more problems with our card, and we also only had 3 hours worth of driving left to endure. We arrived in Sugar Hill, GA at about 3 o'clock (we also lost our last hour this day). Home never looked so good and everyone was ready to be done driving! TJ and Jameson unloaded a few things on the truck, but we waited til later when help would arrive at 6 o'clock from the ward for everything else. Which there was definitely no shortage of thank goodness! We probably had 20-30 people come to help us unload and were able to get it all done within an hour.
Here we are a week later and things are just starting to feel normal. Most of the house is unpacked except for a few boxes here and there. It is finally starting to feel like a home. I think I would be more home-sick at this point if I wasn't so busy adjusting to two kids, but I'm sure once I start getting the hang of things that it will definitely start to kick in. I'll post pictures of the house soon!

I'm so glad that you guys made it safe and sound (despite the a useless bank and a 2 years old)! And I can't wait to see pictures of your new house.
