Gavin these days

It has been a while since I've blogged so bear with me as I play catch up.

To start lets talk about our little Gavin.

He is 15 months old (3 more months til nursery!!)
His last check-up he was 25lbs and still in the 95% for his head.
He has 8 teeth-4 on top, 4 on bottom
Great sleeper still. I can still squeeze two naps out of him and 12 hours at night! Makes momma very happy!
He is very vocal these days and tells you what he wants or when he is not happy. No more of the happy-go-lucky 'you can take that toy away from me and I won't care' Nu-Uh. He hates it when you take stuff away from it!

Nicknames:

Gav-Gav, Gavin-poo, Gavy, or bug-a-boo (no sure why on that last one)

Favorite Foods:
WAFFLES! French fries, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, strawberries, bananas, gummies, and cheetos.

Favorite activities:

Swimming. Not the sprinkler or fountains, but swimming.
He loves to go outside, play in the broom/shoe closet, copy big brother,  & throw balls.
His favorite game is the "pick-up game" He loves to pick things up/collect them and bring them to you. This is especially helpful when picking up blocks or puzzle pieces.
He LOOOOVES books. He favorite is the "Doggie" book and if I tell him to go get it, he knows exactly what I am talking about, where to find it, and brings it right to me.

Fun/Cute Facts:

He loves to point at things and mumble full-on sentences
He loves to snuggle his blankets, especially the tags. He moves his blanket around until he finds the tag and strokes it on his face.
He has the best hair ever! Everyone comments on it and loves it! It use to stick straight up all the time, but about a month ago it started to lay down more.
He says "vroom" when playing with his cars (it amazes me how much he understands!)
Every time I take food out of the microwave and bring it to him he automatically starts blowing. Once he even did it for strawberries until I told him it wasn't hot. He understands very well.
He loves to give high-fives and will run as fast as he can to you when you ask for one.
On the other hand, when you ask for kisses he is very select about who gets them... Easton and the picture of Jesus on the wall (which he did all by himself might I add. It was so cute! Makes me think that he recognizes him as his friend and the veil is very thin)
He is still, even though he's more vocal, my happy content little boy. He could sit in a shopping cart or car forever without being fussy.

We love our little Gav-Gav!

Did I mention the awesome hair?

He shovels in his food! I can't stop it, I've tried.

Such a handsome little devil!

Easter Weekend

We had some fun Easter activities. This is the first ward we've been in where they don't do an Easter egg hunt activity, which was pretty disappointing. So instead, I decided to put together a little egg hunt with some friends from our play group...

Easton & Gavin with our little friend Weston

Checking out their loot... Everyone got to find 12 eggs (trying to make it fair). Gavin actually did better at finding the eggs than I thought he would. I let Easton do his own thing and followed Gavin around to help him.. Much to my surprise when I caught with Easton up after Gavin found all his, Easton only had 4 eggs in his basket. So turns out Easton was the one who needed the most help...

Then of course we had some fun dying the Easter eggs. He mostly just wanted to make them all blue, but I tried to encourage some other colors as well.

Easter morning- The Easter bunny (and Grandma) went a little over board. They got books, bubbles, a soccer ball, and Easton got a giant stuffed Mario! (Yes he is still obsessed!)

A new Mario shirt from Grandma (which he wants to wear everyday)

The Easter bunny also got Easton some fun little Mario-Kart toys. After he got those we went outside to find the eggs, but Easton was far more interested in playing with his cars-leaving Gavin to find them all!

We also did a cute little idea that I got from a friend here where you bury Jelly beans the night before the Easter bunny comes and the next morning the Easter bunny turns them into suckers (You can see one in the ground on the picture above). Easton thought that was pretty awesome!

"Easter Sunday best" pictures

I love these boys!!

Oh and the Saturday before Easter we got a new puppy. Her name is Lucy and she is the best dog EVER! She is an Australian Shepard/Lab mix. She looks like a lab, but is the size of a Shepard and has no tail like the Australian Shepard's. I really didn't want another dog anytime soon, but Jameson did. He hardly ever asks for anything and I feel bad that he doesn't really have any friends here- so I said yes!
She was free and already crate trained. She listens great. We don't have a fence, but we can let her out to go to the bathroom and she'll come right back. Her previous owner had a daughter Gavin's age so she is also great with kids. Easton tries to ride her and jump on her and she just lets him. She also likes to lay by the boy's bedroom doors til we put her in her kennel for the night, which is super sweet. So I guess even though I didn't want her- she makes a great new addition to the family!

Monkey Party!

We had a fun monkey party for our little 'Monkey' Gavin! We celebrated while we were visiting in AZ so I threw everything together within one week. There was Safari style food, fun for the little ones, and catching up with great friends!

Cute cousins!
