Oh and since Santa brought Easton the new Wii system, it also consisted of a lot of Mario game playing. Every day when Easton comes home from school he will ask if he can play. This boy is obsessed! When I asked him what he did at school that day he will also tell me he played Mario with his friend Dexter or Hunter on the playground.
Our fun group of friends we meet up for play/mommy dates at Chick Fil A. Almost a weekly occurrence and the workers know us by name. You could say this is mommy's obsession
This boy just recently got a hair cut, but since I am behind of updating I had to document this kids crazy bed head. It is awesomely crazy!
More Gavin snuggle time
In January we also started a countdown chain for how many days until we went to Grandma's house.. which I will get to in another blog post
Daddy set up his Christmas gift on our fairly new patio in the backyard. It has been enjoyed by all
Sweet baby Thatcher came to visit us only 6 days after he was born. His mom is kind of a superhero. When Jameson told me the Clarke's were coming for dinner one Sunday I was surprised. The conversation went as followed...
Me- "They are coming over to our house for dinner?
J- "yes"
Me- "You know Heidi just had a baby like a few days ago right? Are you sure they are coming here and we're not going there?"
J- "Oh, Devin didn't mention it. Let me check"
a little while later ....
J- "Devin said they are coming here. He says Heidi feels fine and wants to get out of the house. He wants to know what they can bring for dinner."
Me- "What? She is crazy. They can come here, but I will be making dinner."
So here are the boys with 6 day old Thatcher. Gavin loved him!
Oh and did I mention we got Gavin a baby doll for Christmas? After a little convincing to dad that is. He loved named it Layla and spent a lot of time taking care of his baby. He's since gone out of the phase, but I know it'll come in handy when the real thing comes along.
We also got a new car in January. The good ol mom van. Jameson told me if I wanted more kids we had a to get a car with a 3rd row in it. I'm still waiting on that first part...
We got free passes from our library in January. The library has a DVD you can check out about the zoo, and when you return it you get a pass good for 4 people. Our library never has it and you can't reserve it. I just got lucky with it being in one day so I jumped on it. Only problem is you have to use the pass within weeks, so we had a very chilly day at the zoo. Not as many as the animals were out, but we still had fun and you can't beat free!
If you ever meet a gorilla, would your first thought be to pick his nose too? #lifewithboys
January also brought our first (and only) snow of the year. Just enough to cancel school for the day, but not enough to play much in. Though we did try. Mini snowball fight, attempted sledding with a boogie board down our tiny hill, and catching snowflakes on our tongues
This guy also had a special birthday in January. 30 years old on the 30th! We celebrated with a night away from the kids, courtesy of uncle TJ! Dinner at our favorite place, a movie, dessert, a hotel stay, waking up at whatever time we pleased (my favorite part of course), and new phone on the way home for the birthday boy.
