Let me tell you about some special friends of mine. We met my Junior year of high school when these babes were just Freshmen. I briefly met one years before when we were really young, but fate brought us back together in our teenage years. They had joined the swim team that year. Somehow they thought I was cool and we became peculiar friends. I even bossed them around here or there. "Hey you, grab my towel" or something like that. They called me Desi Lou and the nickname stuck ever since. I made many friends during my swim years, but these two were special. They didn't care that I was Mormon. They liked me for me, and I think for that reason we stayed friends even after high school. It wasn't long before I married and then soon after had sweet little babies. They loved those babies and were my supporters. Most of my friends from high school at this point I had lost touch with, because who wants to still hang out with our weird married friend? Yet, somehow these friends stuck. Even with New York and Flagstaff and distance between us, we always found the time to meet at our "spot" for breakfast and catch up on everything in life, while they spawned over my cute babies. It amazes me how much of a special place they've held onto in my life for so long and I am truly grateful to have them as my friends.
Flash forward years later when one of those special friends met her special someone and fell in love. Luckily even with the distance, timing was on our side and I was able to attend her wedding. She was one of the most beautiful brides I had ever seen.
Swim girls reunite!
So happy I was able to attend your special day Shelby! I love you and Natalie so!
