For our 5 year anniversary we wanted to do a fun trip with just the two of us. The original plan was a cruise, but we had to nix that in the butt when I got pregnant because you can't be past 24 weeks on a cruise. Vegas was definitely a good alternative. Jameson had never been before, and I had only been once for school and another time for a day as we were passing through to Utah.
We drove up Thursday and arrived around 4 that day. After checking in at our hotel, we decided that our first night would be spent exploring the strip and going to dinner. We had a gift card from Christmas to Cheesecake Factory and looked up if there was one on the strip. There was, but it was quite the walk. I regrettably told Jameson I could handle it and off we went... BIG mistake! We only decided to do it because it was next to the Bellagio fountain show, which I also wanted to see. Well... lets just say after our VERY long walk, and no fountain show due to high winds, I was one sore and unhappy pregnant lady. We did enjoy dinner though at Serendipity, which was recommended to us by more than one person. I, however, was a gimpy pregnant lady for the rest of the weekend. I pulled a muscle in the arch of my foot and got shin splints since I was not wearing walking shoes. I'm sure it was a funny sight to see from anyone else's point of view...
Pictures from our walk the first night...
Friday morning we went to M&M world, the Coca-Cola store, and I got the
BEST 20 minute foot rub of my life because of my sore foot
Cheesy 3D movie... It was free :)
We then decided that the Titanic and Body World exhibits were not worth the ticket price and we came back to our room and took a nap instead. Then that night we went to the Mike Hammer Comedy Magic show. We weren't sure what to think with the tickets only being $20 a piece and we ended being one of the youngest couples there, but it was so much fun! I guess if your 23 and 26 and in Vegas, you don't go to Comedy Magic shows. Haha I am still amazed at some of the things he did and Jameson was even pulled up on stage to help with one of the tricks. I think in this first picture was when he was swallowing razor blades...
We also liked that the show was smaller and more intimate, we felt like it made it more enjoyable for those who were there.
Then Saturday morning we drove to the Venetian hotel for brunch. I was craving beignets and our sister-in-law just happened to mention the beignets at the Venetian are amazing. I completely agree, they were delicious!
Then we explored a little more and debated going on the gondola ride there. We decided not to since we couldn't find where to go, how much is would cost, and I was tired of walking again. Later, we ended up going to the Mandalay Bay aquarium where I was highly disappointed. Probably because we have membership passes to the zoo by our house and the aquarium there is way better.
The jelly fish were the only thing I was really impressed by...
We definitely should have done the gondola ride!
Then we went to dinner that night and came back early to our hotel to crash. I got tired a lot faster than I expected on most of this trip, but was a trooper and made it by gimping everywhere. Despite this, we still had a great weekend and Jameson and I can't wait to go back with some friends next time!

Wait... if you're 23 and 26 in Vegas, where else would you be? Oh, maybe sleeping... you pary animals!
