Phoenix Zoo!

Wednesday some girl friends and I decided to take a drive to the Phoenix Zoo. I don't think I have been to this zoo since my overnight field trip in the 5th grade! And considering the Wildlife World Zoo is right down the street it makes sense that I would go there more. Anyways, my conclusion after visiting both zoos is there are things I like about both. Here are what I think the pros and cons are of each...

Phoenix Zoo Pros: Cheaper, has an elephant, bigger, paths are paved, bathrooms everywhere, had monkey walk through which was awesome!

Phoenix Zoo Cons: You have to pay to see sting rays, farther from home, some animals are hard to see because the exhibits hide them, jungle gym was lame (not really what you come to the zoo for, but its nice to let the kids play for a little bit instead of being in a stroller all day).

WWW Zoo Pros: More interaction with animals, gets to feed birds and giraffes, closer to home, has full aquarium, better petting zoo, better jungle gym.

WWW Zoo Cons: More expensive, pathways are dirt, smaller, has only like 2 bathrooms.

Anyway, I guess it all depends on what you'd be looking for more and which pros out weigh the others. We did have a great time regardless of comparison to the other zoo. I loved theorangutans and the giraffes. Easton loved the birds, monkeys, and especially the prairie dogs. He could have stood on the ledge all day and talked to them, it was so cute! I had a great time taking him and hanging out with some other moms for the day as well. I can't remember who said it, but someone said we look like a "mom mob" walking in a line with our 5 strollers. I guess it would look kinda intimidating. Haha. Well here are some pictures from the trip...

Holding hands. Little cuties!

Prarie Dogs. They loved it!

Matching PJ's

The other night David and Abby came over to hang out. When putting Adilyn to bed they realized they didn't have any pajamas so they borrowed some of ours. Easton just happens to have two pair of the same kind so....

Waaala!

Aren't they just the cutest!?!

Pizza Casserole!

For anyone who knows my husband they know he LOVES pizza. Someone even bought him a whole pizza once for his birthday (**cough cough Bryan & Katie). Well as for me, I do love pizza every now and then, but decided to try something a little different. This is my pizza casserole...

He was a little hesitant at first when I told him what I was making, but then again he's always unsure about a lot of things until he tries it. BUT it turned out to be a HUGE hit! This was a big recipe for just the three of us, but he ended up eating leftovers for days after (which never happens!!) Here is the recipe I used http://cullyskitchen.com/3-meat-pizza-casserole-recipe/

We decided next time we will subsitute ham for more pepperoni, leave out the onions (I'm not a big fan) and use a little spicier sausage.

Library Play Group

Ever since Easton started taking one nap during the day instead of two, we have been going to the play group at the library by our house every Thursday morning. It's nice to get out of the house and gives both me and Easton something to do. He runs around playing with all the kids and toys while I sit and chat with my other mom friends who also come. I say that's a win win :)

Here is Easton's buddy Kennedy... she's the only girl who won't let Easton give her kisses. Haha She's learning to know better young.
Here he is trying but she just runs away Haha

Valentines Day!

This year for Valentines Day Jameson and I decided to keep it simple. He told me he didn't want to spend too much because we really didn't have any money to spend til he got paid. We decided to go out for our date night on Saturday and count that as our Valentines. We used our Groupons and went to the Studio Movie Grill in Scottsdale. Its one of my new favorite things being served dinner and drink refills during a movie.
Then on Valentines Day I felt weird not really have anything planned for Jameson. He told me not to spend any money, so I didn't. Then he walked through the door with roses, a card and chocolate! I thought, "Ugh! I am a horrible wife!" But he said he would have rather have me not spend any money and that was a better gift.

His card made me want to cry! I loved what he wrote!

We ended up spending Valentine's night watching a movie, eating dessert, and snuggling on the couch. It ended up being one of our best Valentine's Day to date (minus the one where I found out I was pregnant with Easton).
